Great Challenge Hackathon Entrepreneurship

The Great Challenge Hackathon Entrepreneurship has been a dynamic experience for generating innovative entrepreneurial ideas that respond to real needs in the field of health and well-being. The aim of this initiative was to create a competitive and collaborative environment in which a community of participants involved in the issue can propose concrete solutions.


The event has been organized and developed under the European plan EIT HEI Initiative. Specifically, the project is called Entrepreneurial Preparation for Notable and Engaging Universities.

This hackathon was held simultaneously in the 7 countries of the participating organizations, in many cases European higher education institutions. Participants competed in a first phase locally, and the winners at the European level.


On the 18th of October, the stage was set for innovation and creativity as 7 remarkable teams from across the globe came together to participate in hackathon event.

Teaching Factory Competence Center (Greece) - HermesMed


The winning team was HermesMed from Greece and in the second place was ScreenBreaker from Spain. In this country, Lucian Farcas, Daniel Durán, Alejandro Jiménez and Sergio García, the students who formed the ScreenBreaker team, have been welcomed by various municipal and regional authorities to acknowledge their work in developing an application that mitigates screen addiction in the younger population and promoting healthy activities.
